Anyone who is experienced with tattoo's?

I am thinking of getting my first tattoo on the back of my shoulder. I no it will hurt regardless of where the location is but I%26#039;ve heard it hurts more on your back. Is this true?

some say it does, some say it doesnt, ive heard the center of the back over the spine can be a little rough, and near the shoulder blade isnt as bad

That depends on where, really. Areas that have more fatty tissue will hurt less.

Reply:Nope, that was where I got my first tattoo and it felt like someone drawing on my back w/ a pen! Up near my neck, when he was doing the shading, it hurt, but not that bad.
Reply:i have one on my breast and one on my shoulder and the shoulder hurt ore bar none but nothing too terrible.
Reply:Well, yes. Some parts of the back hurt more then others, such as the center. It all depends on nerves.





But, yes the shoulders hurt alot. They feel like the person is giving you a PAINFUL tattoo in your neck, it%26#039;s scary at first.. but they arent. Just shoulder.
Reply:4 out of my 5 are on my back. It hurts worse where there is bone. I have one on each shoulder blade. They hurt less than the other ones I have because it isn%26#039;t straight skin then bone like over your spine or wrist like my other ones. It hurts, but it%26#039;s bare able. You will be fine. ;-)
Reply:I have 2 Tattoo%26#039;s Both on my back. They hurt a little at first but after awhile I started falling asleep.





Best way to describe it i think : It feels liek a a$$hole cat is digging his claw in your back. But Like I said after awhile you don%26#039;t really feel it.
Reply:YOU SHOULD BE FINE...I HAD ONE DONE ON MY LOWER BACK AND THE CLOSER TO THE SPINE (IN MY OPINION) IT JUST TICKLED MORE
Reply:I%26#039;ve heard the ribs (down your side) are the worst.. it will sting some on your back, but after a minute or two it%26#039;ll go numb.. It took me 12 years to build up the guts my first.. now I have 4 and planning on a new leg piece in a few months.. Once you get one, you can%26#039;t stop!!!
Reply:i got one on my left shoulder and it hurt really bad the first time. when i got it touched up i was nearly on the floor laughing. dont ask me why but it was that much of a difference. also when i got my tattoo inbetween my shoulder blades i didn%26#039;t feel the pain because i was stressed and it made my stress go away.
Reply:I have six tattoos and my most painful one was on my lower back and it only took six minutes. My other ones have lasted up to two hours and I didn%26#039;t think it was painful at all. Just kind of irritating. I have two on the back of my shoulder and they didn%26#039;t really hurt to me.
Reply:It feels like someone scratching a sunburn. It is more annoying than painful, but the shading hurts the most. My first tattoo was on my back, and I am a fricken%26#039; wuss. So if I can do it, beleive me, you can too.
Reply:I recently got one (lower back). Everyone was telling me how painful it was going to be so I just ignored them. When I got the tattoo it just felt like deep cat scratches for the outline. The filling just feels like someone pushing a little while writing in pen. Afterwards it didn%26#039;t hurt at all.
Reply:the worst places are the ribs and the crack between your butt and your thigh, everywhere else is fine. its usually just a little uncomfy thats all, mine haven%26#039;t hurt at all. goodluck
